Faith And What Hinders It

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hebrews 11:1

In Exodus 3, God told Moses to deliver His people from Egypt. Even though God spoke directly to Moses from a burning bush, Moses STILL struggled with his faith.

I find that a lot of us are like that today. Even though God has delivered us time and time again from one mess after another, we still struggle with our faith. Moses said to God, "I can't" He didn't think he was worthy to lead the Israelites. Many of us are like that. We think, "I am not worthy of a miracle." When we linger in those thoughts, that Satan bombards us with, we get stuck there and we start whining about our situations.

A lot of times we lack faith because of our ignorance of the Word. Moses was not sure who God was, and God had to educate him.  God told Moses the following;

"I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham." Exodus 3:6

In the next verse God reveals himself to be a God who truly cares for His people. "I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cries. I am aware of their sufferings." Exodus 3:7

The same God that spoke to Moses, is operating in our lives today. In Hebrews 13:8 we read this;

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Now I often think to myself, "What part of that do you not understand?"

God is still on His throne. He still cares about our lives, and He still wants to lead us into our own "Promised Land."

Our faith is often hindered by doubt. Moses started to analyze things, if you will, and he started to doubt that what God was saying would actually work. This same thing happens to us. We often think, "God, I know you want me to react in a certain way to someone who is oppressing me, but I don't think it will work. You just don't know the person, he/she has a heart of stone." Yet God says, "Regardless, I want you to do it my way."

I recently got an email from a brother in Christ who gave me a marvelous praise report. His brother in law has always been a stiff-necked, hateful type of a guy. He is full of venom, and quite loose morally. My brother in Christ determined to love him anyway. It was not easy; in fact it was down right hard. Yet, he knew that God expects us to treat all people with love, even those who are not nice to us. After seeing the change in my friend, the brother in law is starting to come around.  He called my friend recently and the stony heart is starting to melt.

When God told Moses to talk to Pharaoh, he said "Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." Exodus 4:10.

God then assures Moses that HE will be with him, and as it says in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Moses didn't have to move in his own strength and neither do we! If we are told by God to do something, or say something, we can be sure that He is preparing the way before us.

Until we understand what faith is, and what God says about it in the Word, we will be hindered in our faith walk.

Today, get into the Word. Right down five powerful faith scriptures and then put them in your bible, or your daytimer. Whenever Satan comes against your faith walk, take them out and encourage yourself.

Faith isn't about what we can do on our own. Faith is about what the Father can do in and through us, and He is not limited.

Today is the day for a faith miracle for someone. Will it be YOU??

Father, thank you that we have access to your Throne Room. We know that nothing..No thing is impossible with you! Help us to remember that when Satan presents evidence to the contrary. In Your Name, the Name above all names we pray. Amen and Amen

For We Know With God Nothing..No Thing is impossible
