No matter how great a person
you are chances are at one time or another your life will be harassed by an
enemy. It usually comes from out
of the blue. One day life is great
and you are on top and then the next day here comes a person that wants to
destroy everything you have worked so hard to achieve.
What can you do? The first thing you need to do is
understand what an enemy is. Your enemy is anyone who wants to destroy the call
that God has on your life. Jesus knew that we would have enemies. Jesus had
them too. “And ye shall be hated
by all men for My names sake: But
he who endures to the end will be saved” (Matthew 10:22)
Any person who sees you as a
threat and desires your position in life is an enemy. You have something or someone that they want. The person doesn’t stop and take time
to see all that you may have gone through to achieve your current position in
life. They aren’t willing to work
hard and achieve these things themselves.
They want to take your good from you.
This enemy will bring out the
worst in your character. This
enemy of your soul will resurrect character defects that you had thought long
ago defeated. This person has a
demonic assignment to “kill, steal and destroy” your happiness and peace of
mind. If you are a person of strong faith you can expect this person to try and
destroy it. You may be tempted to give up and say “Father, why did you allow
this person to wreck what I have worked so hard to achieve” Even the most
mature Christian among us becomes weakened by their enemies.
When you are confronted on
all sides know that you are doing something right in the body of Christ. If you
were not satan wouldn’t have taken notice of you. You often hear folks talk about how “not one bad thing ever
happens to them or their families.”
If you look twice you will notice it’s because they are happy with the
status quo. They don’t step out to
create or live their visions. They
don’t care about other people.
They are the pew sitters who neither add to or take away from the body of
Christ. The great leaders in the
Christian community today are those who believed they would succeed and never
gave up the belief!
It’s tempting to get into
fear when you have an enemy that’s nipping at your heels. We simply need to
commit to memory the scripture that says “And fear them not which kill the
body, but are not able to kill the soul.”
(Matthew 10:28) It is never the person that is your enemy but the demon
working inside of them. Satan is
the enemy of the Christian and will be until God defeats him. Don’t give up the call on your life
simply because someone is coming against you. If God has truly given you this vision then expect Him to
give you provision for it. Expect
and believe that God will defeat each and every person who rises up against His
vision.
Take your eyes off of your
“enemy” and put them on God. It’s
hard not to get discouraged when you have enemies that want to destroy your
vision. Remember that God is on
your side in this battle and you will win.
No one can ever take
something or someone from you that God has truly ordained for your life. “No weapon formed against you will
prosper.” Spend more time on your
knees with God asking Him to remove this person from your life and less time
fighting with the person. Prayer and the Word of God are going to be your
warfare weapons, use them constantly.
Pray and ask God that the
things that are being done behind the scenes to destroy you are revealed. If
there is a traitor in your organization ask God to reveal to you who the person
is. You may feel as if this
situation is simply too big for you and you may feel ready to give up. Remember that little David came up
against a giant and was able to defeat him with just a little slingshot. With God on the scene nothing is ever impossible.
We all want to be liked and
respected and its heart breaking when we find that our enemies are likely to be
those we have only treated kindly.
When we realize that this is just another area of spiritual growth for
us we then defeat our enemies and help others to do the same.
